The Hate U Give - Rereading Roll of Thunder. Hear My Cry and it just hit me just how almost dystopian it feels at times and also how white the YA dystopian trend during the 2010s was. I mean that doesn't make them bad books, just very cheaply nihilistic compared to Angie Thomas' The Hate U Give.
