Hong Kong confirmed its first case of a new flu-like coronavirus on Wednesday following an outbreak in the central mainland China city of Wuhan, local broadcasters RTHK, Cable TV and TVB said, citing unnamed sources.

Next month's women's Olympic football qualifiers in Wuhan have been shifted to Nanjing, the Asian Football Confederation said on Wednesday, following an outbreak of the new coronavirus in the central Chinese city.

The number of people known to be infected with the Wuhan virus has increased ninefold in just one week, and it has spread to other countries.

The Wuhan coronavirus, also known as 2019-nCoV, has killed nine people in China and affected 440 people worldwide as of Wednesday, China said.
