It's easy for lumps caused by  thyroid cancer to go unnoticed, Dr. Eric Moore told USA TODAY. There are often no symptoms and nodules grow slowly.

"Inside Edition" anchor Deborah Norville revealed in a video Monday that she will undergo surgery to remove a thyroid nodule from her neck. In the message, Norville said it was thanks to one viewer's sharp eye that she went to her doctor in the first place.

Deborah Norville is used to having her looks scrutinized as a television personality, but one comment from a concerned viewer proved to be a life-saver.

"We live in a world of 'see something, say something,' and I'm really glad we do," she said in a video posted online

The anchor was contacted by a viewer who said she’d seen something on Norvile’s neck -- a lump that doctors monitored for years, and that recently turned into thyroid cancer.

Norville, who has been on Inside Edition since 1995, said she will make a speedy recovery and will not need chemotherapy or radiation therapy, but she will be off the show for some time.

The four-bedroom, four-bath co-op was the primary residence for Deborah Norville and her family for the last 17 years. The list price will be $4.5 million.
