The star TV presenter is sacked over efforts to help his brother defend sexual harassment claims.

Mr Cuomo admitted in May that he had broken some of the news network's rules in advising his brother how to handle the allegations from a public relations perspective.

CNN said Saturday that anchor Chris Cuomo has been "terminated" by the network, "effective immediately." The announcement came after an outside law firm was retained to review exactly how Cuomo aided his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Cuomo's former boss Shelley Ross on Friday accused the CNN host of groping her rear end during a 2005 party.

Shelley Ross said the CNN anchor needs to put in the work to improve himself and prevent future sexual harassment in the workplace.

Shelley Ross told Insider that his response to her op-ed in the New York Times showed he had not changed in 16 years.

The CNN anchor's former producer claims he touched her inappropriately in 2005. While Cuomo acknowledged an incident occurred, he denied it had a sexual nature.
