Former Congressman Beto O'Rourke ended his flailing presidential campaign on Friday, right before the Iowa state party's big event.

O'Rourke was urged to run for president by many Democrats who were energized by his narrow Senate loss last year in Texas, but he struggled in the presidential primary and both his polling and his fundraising dwindled significantly in recent months.

Democrat Beto O'Rourke dropped out of the crowded 2020 U.S. presidential race on Friday, saying it had become clear his campaign did not have the resources to continue to seek his party's nomination.
